MBS was first organized in 1990 by a
handful of bird lovers, mostly breeders
at that time. Today we have grown in membership and knowledge. Most of the 100
or so members fall under pet owners instead of breeders. The clubs' main means
of
support is our annual bird fair being held each March.
We look forward to our annual fair as it only gets bigger and better every year!
We donate 25% of our profits to avian causes, which to date have
included:
Dr. Branson Richey, Dr. Kevin Flammer, AFA, MARE, The World Parrot Trust,
The Tropics, The Gabriel Foundation, the Potawatomi Zoo, and our area Vets
Research and Learning Fund,
ASPCA Katrina Relief, Oasis Sanctuary, Washington Park Zoo, Black Pine Animal
Sanctuary, Illinois Parrot Rescue and many more!
Because this is a bird club, your birds
are welcome to bring
you along.
We do ask that you have had your bird for at least 60 days and
have brought no new birds into your flock.
You may also just attend a meeting as a guest and enjoy the camaraderie, fun
activities,
or one of our many informative guest speakers.
Meetings are held at 2:30 P.M. on the second Sunday of
each month.
We meet at the Willow Creek United Methodist Church located at
14010 Jefferson Blvd. Mishawaka, Indiana
